Exciting line-up for St Patrick’s Day

The February edition of the Queensland Irish Association Newsletter has just been published and includes details of our exciting line-up for Saint Patrick’s Day.

The highlight of the Irish cultural calendar in Brisbane is, of course, the St Patrick’s Eve Dinner, to be held on Tuesday, 16th March. This year, it will be held at the Pullman Hotel in King George Square. It will be attended by the Governor of Queensland, the Hon Paul de Jersey AO, and the Toast will be proposed by journalist and TV presenter Kerry O’Brien. Members are asked to accept the invitation immediately, by filling out and returning the booking form in our newsletter.

Saint Patrick’s Day Mass on Wednesday, 17th March, will be celebrated at the Cathedral of Saint Stephen on Elizabeth Street at 10am and all are welcome to attend.

We will also be getting together on Saint Patrick’s Day at the Grand Central Hotel on Ann Street, from 1pm. A cohort of pipers and drummers from Queensland Irish Association Pipe Band will ensure a festive atmosphere and there will, of course, be plenty of Guinness on tap.
