Time to return serve: Jeff Spender set for farewell roast at City Hall

After years of giving others a good-natured ribbing, former Queensland Irish Association president Jeff Spender is about to find himself firmly in the firing line.

The Queensland Irish Association is inviting members and friends to a special farewell luncheon and roast in honour of Jeff’s retirement, with an afternoon of laughs, tall tales and affectionate leg-pulling planned at Brisbane City Hall.

Held in the Ithaca Room on Friday, July 24, the event will feature a two-course meal, entertainment by Tom Kimmett and a line-up of speakers ready to share some of the more memorable stories from Jeff’s life and years of service to the Irish community.

Known to generations of Queensland Irish members, Jeff has been a familiar face at countless events and gatherings over the years, making the luncheon a chance for friends old and new to celebrate his contribution while giving him one final roasting before retirement.
